Media Venture Collective is a grass-roots, 501(c)3, public-benefit venture fund and media democracy SWAT network dedicated to changing the media game rules, which today are both a threat to democracy and a serious headwind against any real social change.
Our mission is to germinate and fertilize enterprises that can be to monopoly media what Linux is to Microsoft: open, participatory, collaboratively-built, democratically accessible public utilities that work better than media driven solely by the profit motive.
By participating, you will be adding your name to an online meta-rolodex of global citizens built one person at a time, and linked by trust thanks to the personal invitations that spread it (see below).
The Media Venture Collective is funded by small donations from large numbers of people in support of media democracy.
